A: I like thinking. And I believe there are pieces that the Heat could land in exchange for spades that would still leave the team in a competitive position. But in doing so, it would be a tacit acknowledgment that this is not a season of quarrels, as often small parts can help navigate the road to the championship round. With Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herr, you can still compete for quality seed and give yourself a chance to succeed in the early round. Where I would draw the line would be with Goran Dragic (who has a veto over such a deal). He’s the type of swing that could leave a Heat rocking with a departure (as was the case in his recent absence). So yes, if someone calls asking about Andre Iguodala, Kelly Olynyk or Avery Bradley, I would listen. As for Duncan Robinson, it could come down to whether the Heat will believe it will be a price worth paying in free agencies.
