Attention, hungry fans of pop culture and music: Two of your favorite icons from the 90s will now deliver food to your doorstep.
Mario Lopez, best known as AC Slater in a teen comedy Saved the bell, all grew up and toiled with cakes while his favorite American diva, Mariah Carey, bakes cookies.
Lopez’s delivery-only concept, Mario’s Tortas Lopez, was launched late last month, offering six different types of cakes, a Mexican sandwich similar to a Arepa born in South America.
The cakes, served on a griddle, are stuffed with beef barbecue, chorizo and eggs, grilled chicken, pork carnitas, chile relleno or vegan chorizo. (Alternatively, the same fillings can be ordered as cauliflower rice bowls.) Other menu items include nachos, chips and guacamole, black beans, elote, and churro donuts served with dulce de leche.
The menu was created by a chef Eric Greenspan, with input from Lopez. (Greenspan, whose restaurant in Los Angeles, Foundry in Melrose, was a semifinalist for the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in 2008, is a frequent presence on food TV shows.)
The concept is a partnership with Orlando-based Virtual Dining Concepts, which contracts with local restaurants to prepare food delivered exclusively through Grubhub.
In a press release, Lopez said he was pleased with the collaboration with Virtual Dining Concepts. “[T]”There’s no one here I would trust in the restaurant business who could do that,” he said. It is especially important to me that this menu is available to small, independent restaurants as a way to help them recoup their finances. base. “
New Times have repeatedly tried unsuccessfully to come up with virtual nutrition concepts to ask about their restaurant partners in Miami. The address listed for Mario’s Tortas Lopez (426 SW Eighth Street) has a Taco Rico.
If you’re looking for dessert, it’s “sweet, sweet fantasy, honey” Mariah’s Cookies maybe it’s in your alley. The cookies, baked in collaboration with favorite American giant, Mariah Carey, cost $ 12 for half a dozen and come in six varieties: a piece of chocolate, a lemon cooler, a triple piece of chocolate, white chocolate cranberry, Heath bar and a piece of white red velvet chocolate.
Like Mario’s cakes, the cookies are baked in partnership with Virtual Dining Concepts. They are currently available in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
The kitchens of ghost ghosts seem to be in a rage. Guy Fieri recently jumped into the kitchen with celebrity ghosts Guy Fieri’s flavor kitchen. Virtual Dining Concepts deals with many other A (and B) lists, including Tyga Bites (chicken-lump concept from Tyga, also available in Miami) i Italian subsidies Pauly D. (sandwich by Pauly D from Jersey Shore known).
And if that’s concrete proof of the end of the world, look, consider that Jonathan Cheban (AKA Foodgod) is reportedly opening a Virtual Dining Concepts company called French fries with truffles which will offer chicken wings, burgers and hot dogs in addition to the dish of the same name.
